Lifespan with care

01 - Storage & hanging

Leather needs to breathe and hold its shape. How you store it between wears matters as much as how you wear it.

  • Use a wide, padded hanger — wire will distort the shoulders permanently
  • Store in a cotton dust bag, never plastic — leather suffocates without airflow
  • Stuff sleeves loosely with acid-free tissue during long storage
  • Keep away from direct sunlight — UV fades and dries leather over time

02 - Wet leather

Full-grain leather is naturally water-resistant. Light rain is fine. Heavy soaking needs attention before it dries stiff.

  • Shake off excess water immediately
  • Pat dry with a soft, clean cloth — don't rub
  • Air dry naturally at room temperature, away from all heat sources
  • Never use a hair dryer, radiator, or direct sunlight to speed drying
  • Condition once fully dry — wet leather loses oils as it dries

03 - Conditioning (every 3–6 months)

Conditioning replaces the natural oils leather loses over time. Skip it long enough and the leather will eventually crack.

  • Apply a small amount to a soft cloth — never directly to the jacket
  • Work in small, circular motions across the entire surface
  • Let it absorb fully for 10–15 minutes
  • Buff lightly with a clean dry cloth to finish

04 - Stain removal

Act quickly and gently. Most marks on full-grain leather can be addressed without specialist products.

  • Surface marks: slightly damp cloth, gentle pressure, dry fully
  • Oil-based stains: cornstarch or talcum powder, leave overnight, brush off gently
  • Ink: a cotton bud with isopropyl alcohol, dab don't rub
  • Never use saddle soap on coloured leathers — it can strip the dye
  • Never use household cleaners, wipes with alcohol, or baby wipes
